A House Becomes a Home

On Sunday, June 2, 2024, we gathered with hearts full of gratitude and joy to celebrate a significant milestone - the opening of our second house on the Joseph House campus. It was a beautiful day, made even more special by the presence of so many friends and partners, both old and new. Bishop Wack blessed our house, reminding us of the faith and generosity that have carried our mission forward.

This new house represents more than just four walls and a roof - it is a sanctuary of hope, healing, and transformation. It stands as a testament to the power of community and the belief that everyone deserves a place to call home.

For me, the word 'home' carries deep meaning. It is more than a physical space; it is where my people are - the ones who truly know me, who see my worth, and who believe in me even when I struggle to believe in myself. Home is where I am challenged to grow, sometimes in ways that are uncomfortable, but always in ways that shape me into who I am meant to be.

Home is where love happens - messy, honest, and unconditional. It is a place of laughter and joy, of tears and reconciliation, of both conflict and peace. It is where I can simply be - imperfect and whole, accepted and cherished.

For the men who will walk through the doors of this house, we pray it will mean a fresh start; a place where they can heal and rediscover the dignity that has been theirs all along. A space where they are welcomed as they are.
