We hope you’ve had the chance to meet our new House Manager Quintin Storey. If you haven’t had the chance yet, please click here to read that story. His arrival as our House Manager is not the only gift we’ve recently received at Joseph House. We’d like to introduce Rachel Sullivan Bunting, and what drew our new intern to us in her own words.
In her words
My name is Rachel Sullivan Bunting, and I am the new Social Work intern at Joseph House. I am currently in my final semester of the Master’s in Social Work program at Florida State University. I felt drawn to Joseph House because of its commitment to treating those who have been incarcerated with dignity and respect.
The dream of building a community around those who have been marginalized in order to demonstrate that they are worthy of love and care was something I felt I could get behind with my whole heart. I think the most important aspect of Joseph House is that they demonstrate these values by inviting the residents to take part in daily life with those in their community, which benefits everyone!
Though I’ve primarily worked with at-risk youth in the past, I am very excited to explore the opportunity of working with adults! I am very interested in working with those who have been formerly incarcerated and have experienced homelessness, as well as promoting social justice!
For some personal things about me, I reside in Tallahassee with my husband, Jake, and love any and all things musical theatre!
I look forward to meeting all of you and working with you to serve our brothers and sisters in Tallahassee!
